Poshmark Shifts Electronics to USPS Ground Advantage; Amazon Shipping Raises 2025 Peak-Season Charges

Poshmark has updated its shipping policy so that any order containing electronics will now ship via USPS Ground Advantage instead of Priority Mail. The platform says the change applies regardless of the item’s size or weight and is intended to align with USPS requirements around electronic devices.

Ground Advantage typically delivers in two to five business days and is designed for cost-effective shipment of goods up to 70 pounds. While most non-electronic Poshmark orders will continue using Priority Mail, the switch for electronics may affect delivery speed expectations and how sellers structure listings.

For sellers, this shift means being mindful of any item that could be classified as electronic and proactively communicating potential delivery timelines to buyers. The move follows a trend of retailers balancing shipping speed against cost.

Amazon Shipping will introduce higher holiday surcharges from October 26 through January 17. The steepest rates apply between late November and late December, covering demand-based per-package fees as well as increased costs for additional handling, oversized parcels, and extra-heavy items.

Although overall charges are rising compared to last year, Amazon is not reinstating a volume-based surcharge. The company says the added fees are necessary to maintain delivery quality and manage seasonal strain on its network.

Because Amazon Shipping has grown rapidly among brands and third-party sellers, the new surcharges will impact a wide range of e-commerce operators. Businesses will need to plan early, adjust pricing strategies, and optimize packaging to reduce exposure to heavy or oversized fees. The moves follow similar temporary fees from UPS and FedEx.
